President pledges support for Azerbaijan

HÀ NỘI — President Trần Đại Quang has assured Azerbaijani Minister of Energy Natig Aga Emi Olgu Aliyev that Việt Nam is ready to create favourable conditions for Azerbaijan’s goods to enter the country. 

During a reception in Hà Nội on Wednesday, Quang hailed the visit at the beginning of this year, which marks the  二 五th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties, adding that Vietnamese leaders support deepening bilateral ties. 

Discussing measures to boost economic, trade and investment ties, he suggested realising high-level agreements and the outcomes of the first session of the Inter-Governmental Co妹妹ission on Economic-Trade and Science-Technology Co-operation. 

To lift two-way trade, Việt Nam is willing to export agro-fisheries, electronics and computers to Azerbaijan, he said, adding that both sides should consider resuming co-operation in education-training and expanding connections in culture and tourism and launching a direct flight between Hà Nội and Baku. 

He said Việt Nam wants Azerbaijan to continue assisting the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group in more oil and gas exploitation projects in the country. 

Minister Olgu Aliyev, for his part, thanked the Vietnamese State and Government for creating favourable conditions for the meeting, during which the sides reached several deals. 

He agreed with the President’s proposed measures to intensify bilateral ties, especially in oil and gas, science-technology, culture and tourism. — VNS
